This page describes how Mady Home collects, uses and protects the personal data of visitors and guests of this website, in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

What data is collected

When you contact us or make a booking request, we may collect:

• Name and surname
• Email address
• Phone number
• Any message content you send through the WhatsApp chat widget, the booking form, or by email
• Booking details (dates, number of guests) entered in the Smoobu booking widget

Why we use your data

We use your data to:

• Manage and confirm booking requests
• Communicate with you before, during and after your stay
• Issue a receipt or invoice on request for business stays

The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual and contractual measures (GDPR art. 6.1.b) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiries.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as necessary to manage the booking relationship, and afterwards for as long as required by Italian tax law for accounting and invoicing records (typically up to 10 years).

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Some data may be processed by service providers we use to run this website and manage bookings:

• Smoobu — booking management software, used to handle the booking calendar and requests
• Google — Google Maps and Google Fonts (map and site graphics), and Google Analytics (site usage statistics, only with your consent)
• WhatsApp / Meta — if you choose to contact us via the WhatsApp chat button, your message is handled according to WhatsApp's own privacy policy

These providers act as independent data processors and have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising cookies, and does not run any Meta Pixel. The only browser storage used automatically without consent is a technical, strictly necessary localStorage entry that remembers the language you chose in the chat widget — this does not identify you personally and does not require consent under the ePrivacy rules.

The Smoobu booking widget is required for the site's core function (direct booking) and is always active. The embedded Google Maps map and Google Analytics (aggregated usage statistics), on the other hand, do not load automatically: they are only activated after you give consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time using the 🍪 tab that stays visible in the bottom-left corner after your first decision.

Automated virtual assistant

The chat button on this site is an automated assistant that answers common questions from a predefined list of replies: it is not Cristian in person, and its answers, while curated, may contain inaccuracies or errors. This is clearly disclosed when the chat opens, in line with Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act) on transparency for systems that interact with people. For anything the assistant can't handle, it connects you directly with Cristian on WhatsApp.

Cancellation and the right of withdrawal

For contracts for accommodation with a specific start and end date, such as bookings for this property, EU and Italian law (Article 59(1)(n) of the Italian Consumer Code, implementing Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU) expressly excludes the general 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to most distance purchases — the same exclusion that applies to hotels, B&Bs, and platforms like Airbnb or Booking.com.

This does not mean cancellations aren't possible: our commercial policy offers free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival (terms shown at the time of booking). For anything unexpected, message us anyway: we always look for a solution.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its processing, and to data portability. You can exercise these rights at any time by writing to madyhometrento@gmail.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the data protection authority of your own EU country of residence.
